Anna Maria College Athletics Set To Launch Competitive Dance Team for 2026-27 Academic Year
PAXTON, MA – October 28, 2025 – Anna Maria College is excited to announce the addition of a Dance Team to its athletic programs, which will begin competition and campus activities during the 2026-2027 academic year. This new program reflects the College's commitment to enhancing the student experience, growing its athletics and activities offerings, and boosting school spirit across campus.
The Dance Team will be a highly visible group, performing at a variety of campus events, athletic rallies, and community events. In addition to supporting the AMCATS, the team plans to compete in regional and national dance competitions, showcasing a wide range of styles including jazz, hip-hop, and pom.
"The addition of a Dance Team marks a significant and exciting step forward for student life at Anna Maria College," said David McCauley, Executive Director for Athletics. "This program will provide a new avenue for talented students to engage in collegiate athletics, develop their skills, and represent our college with pride. We anticipate the team will bring tremendous energy and school spirit to our athletic events and the entire community."
Recruitment for the inaugural team has begun, targeting current students, transfers, and prospective high school students interested in the college's academic programs. Anna Maria is currently interviewing head coach applicants who will be instrumental in building the foundation of the program, establishing a competitive schedule, and recruiting the inaugural class of student-athletes.
The Anna Maria College Dance Team will operate with a focus on athletic excellence, academic success, and community engagement, aligning with the core mission of the College.
"We look forward to seeing the new Dance Team elevate the atmosphere at our games and become an integral part of the AMCAT family," added McCauley. "This initiative is about more than just competition; it's about providing valuable co-curricular opportunities that contribute to a vibrant campus environment."
