Women’s Basketball Falls to Framingham in Regular Season Finale

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. - Anna Maria College closed out the regular season with a 71-55 loss to Framingham State University on Saturday afternoon in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference action.

Anna Maria finishes the regular season at 10-14 overall and 6-8 in conference play.

Arianna Gonzalez led the AMCATS with 18 points on 7-17 shooting, adding five rebounds, two steals, and a block in 38 minutes. Meaghan Doyle followed with 15 points, three steals, and two blocks, while Sarah O'Connor pulled down a team high eight rebounds to go along with three points. Tiffany Salazar chipped in six points and four rebounds.

Framingham State used a 23-point second quarter to build separation, taking a 41-25 lead into halftime. The Rams extended the advantage to 58-41 after three, but the AMCATS narrowly outscored them 14-13 in the final quarter, ultimately the home team fell short.

Anna Maria earned the No. 6 seed in the upcoming MASCAC Tournament and will travel to face No. 3 seed Westfield State University on Tuesday, February 24th, in quarterfinal action.
