Women’s Basketball Bested by Lasell

NEWTON, MA - Anna Maria College fell 60-48 on the road to Lasell University in a non-conference women's basketball matchup on Wednesday evening at the Lasell Athletic Center.

With the result, the AMCATS drop to an overall record of 1-4 on the season.

The AMCATS trailed 12-9 after the first, but responded with a 15-point second quarter to send the game into halftime with the score tied at 24-24. Lasell, however, used a strong third quarter to take control, outscoring Anna Maria 22-12 in the third to build a double-digit lead that held the rest of the way.

Kimani Wilburn led the AMCATS with a season high 15 points on 5-of-11 shooting while adding seven rebounds and a steal. Sarah O'Connor turned in a solid effort with seven points and a team-high eight rebounds, and Meaghan Doyle finished with nine points, including a pair of threes. Arianna Gonzalez contributed four points and three assists.

Anna Maria returns to action on Saturday, December 6th, for a road game against Mount Holyoke. Tip-off is scheduled for 1 p.m.
