WESTFIELD, Mass. - Anna Maria College was defeated 66-46 by Westfield State University in a Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference women's basketball game on Saturday afternoon.
With the loss, the AMCATS move to 4-9 overall and 0-3 against MASCAC competition.
The Owls carried a 32-23 lead into halftime before pulling away in the second half, outscoring the AMCATS 34-23 over the final two quarters.
Tiffany Salazar led Anna Maria with 12 points, knocking down four field goals, including two three-pointers, while adding six rebounds and four assists. Sarah O'Connor added nine points and five rebounds, and Bri Franklin chipped in seven points and three assists. Taylar Hodge contributed five points off the bench, while Meghan Doyle finished with six rebounds and four points.
Anna Maria returns to action on Wednesday, January 21st, for a home game against Fitchburg State University. Tip-off is set for 5 p.m.
