Women's Basketball Outplays Mount Holyoke

SOUTH HADLEY, MA - Anna Maria defeated Mount Holyoke College 63–51 in a non-conference collegiate women's basketball game on Saturday afternoon at the Howard Gym.

With the win, the AMCATS improve their overall record to 2-4 on the season.

Anna Maria opened the game tied 15-15 after the first quarter before taking control in the second by outscoring Mount Holyoke 18-9 and carrying a 33–24 lead into halftime. The AMCATS maintained their advantage the rest of the way, holding the Lyons to 12 points in the third quarter and closing the afternoon with a 12-point victory.

Tiffany Salazar led Anna Maria with 13 points on 4-of-11 shooting, including two made threes, while adding three rebounds and four assists. Arianna Gonzalez finished with 10 points and six rebounds, and Taylar Hodge added 10 points on a perfect 4-for-4 shooting performance. Sarah O'Connor recorded seven points and five rebounds, and Bri Franklin matched her with seven points off the bench.

The AMCATS shot 34.4% from the field and 31.8% from three while finishing 12-for-18 at the free-throw line. They totaled 26 points in the paint and held advantages in points off turnovers (23-15) and bench scoring (28-14).
