Women’s Basketball Knocked Down by Rams

PAXTON, Mass. - Anna Maria College was defeated 80-52 by Framingham State University in a Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference women's basketball game on Wednesday evening at the Fuller Activities Center.

With the loss, the AMCATS fall to 5-11 overall and 1-5 in conference play.

Anna Maria struggled out of the gate, falling behind early and trailing 27-9 at the end of the first quarter before heading into halftime down 39-20. Sarah O'Connor led the AMCATS in the first half with six points, while O'Connor and Kimani Wilburn combined for 10 rebounds.

Framingham State continued to build its advantage in the third quarter, creating a gap too large to overcome. The AMCATS closed the night on a positive note, outscoring the Rams 21-18 in the final quarter, but ultimately fell by the 80-52 final.

Arianna Gonzalez paced Anna Maria with 13 points, connecting on two three-pointers while adding five rebounds, four steals, and four assists. O'Connor finished with 10 points on 5-for-9 shooting to go along with four rebounds and four assists. Hannah Baxter contributed eight points and six rebounds, while Wilburn pulled down a team-high seven rebounds and added four points.

Anna Maria returns to action on Saturday, January 31st, hosting MASCAC opponent Salem State. Tip-off is scheduled for noon.
