PAXTON, Mass. (10.8.2011) –Lasell used goals from 11 different players to defeat Anna Maria College 14-0 in Great Northeast Athletic Conference women's soccer action at AMCAT Field on a warm Saturday evening. The win improves the Lasers to 10-2 (9-0 GNAC) while the AMCATS remain winless at 0-14 (0-9 GNAC).
Leading the charge for the Lasers was Sam Peck (Woodbury, Conn.), Ashley Jenne (Derby, Vt. and Jamie Harris (Lynnfield, Mass.), who each scored two goals. Kaley Kiss (Meriden, Conn.) also played well, adding a goal and three assists.
Injuries forced the AMCAT's to play short handed the entire contest and despite playing hard during the contest, the two player disadvantage was an insurmountable hump.
The visitors started the scoring in the sixth minute, receiving goals from Emily Machado (Marshfield, Mass.) and Sam Peck.
15 minutes later in the first-half, the Lasers scored three more goals in a five minute span. They received back-to-back tallies from Jamie Harris while Reegan Brackett (Scarborough, Maine.) added the other goal.
Kaley Kiss added the last goal of the first-half as Lasell took a 6-0 lead into intermission.
The two man advantage showed up on the stat sheet, as the Lasers outshot the AMCATS 34-0 in the half.
Lasell picked up where they left off in the second-half, scoring eight more goals in the second-half en route to the 14-0 victory. The Lasers received two goals from Ashley Jenne in the frame while six different players each chipped in with a goal.
After the horn blew, the glaring stat for the game was shots. The second-half was much of the same as the first, as Lasell held a 55-2 advantage for the contest.
Amanda Hevy (North Brookfield, Mass.) did her best to minimize the damage, making 17 saves in the game. Cristina Turley (Waterford, Conn.) added the lone shot on goal for the AMCATS, while Alexa Hare (North Brookfield, Mass.) made some shifty moves at mid-field while trying to spark the undermanned AMCAT offense.
Leah Pappalardo (Whitman, Mass.) earned the win and shut-out for the visitors, earning her first win of the season.
The AMCATS return to action on Monday when they host Suffolk in GNAC action at 1:00 pm.
