Lynx Topple AMCATS

PAXTON, MA -- Lesley jumped out to a 7-0 halftime lead behind a career-high four goals from midfielder Jackee Sanchez (Santa Clarita, CA/Golden Valley) and a record-tying four assists from Sarah Apgar (Andover, NJ/Lenape Valley) and coasted to an 8-0 victory over host Anna Maria Monday afternoon.

Sanchez's four goal broke her career high of two, set twice in the last nine days, and give her the new NECC lead in goals (nine) and points (21). Apgar's three assists -- all on Sanchez scores -- tie a Lesley record and put her in the league lead in that category.

Sanchez completed her first career hat trick 51 seconds later, at 28:55, and Apgar spotted Sanchez 57 seconds after that to make it a 6-0 contest at 29:52 on Sanchez's fourth goal and Apgar's record-tying third assist. All together, Sanchez's lightning-quick assault resulted in four goals, three of which were assisted by Apgar, in a matter of 7:23.

Halen added another unassisted goal before halftime, and Bradley's second career goal, which came on a feed from Courtney Hopkins (Watertown, MA/Watertown) at 66:10, rounded out the scoring in an 8-0 pouncing of the Amcats.

Two Anna Maria goalkeepers combined to stop 19 shots, while neither Lynx starter Emileigh Lloyd (Middletown, PA/Middletown) or captain Bridget Rundquist (Chicago, IL/St. Scholastica), who made her second appearance in net, faced an AMCATS shot. The Lynx outshot the Cats 39-0, setting a new season high for shots in a game and marking the second time in the last three games Lesley has held a team without a shot.
