Cadets March Past Women's Soccer
PAXTON, Mass. —Norwich University women's soccer team scored five times in each half to defeat Anna Maria College, 10-0, in Great Northeast Athletic Conference action at AMCAT Field on Wednesday afternoon. The win improves the Cadets to 6-1-1 (4-1-1 GNAC) on the season, while the AMCATS fall to 0-10 (0-6 GNAC) overall.
Norwich's Brittany Casey (Pointe Clair, Que.), Courtney Parisot (Watertown, Conn.) and Nora Osinski (Orange, Conn.) each had two goals in the game. Single tallies came from Baylie Lamarre (Tyngsboro, Mass.), Hannah Magee (Woburn, Mass.) and Julia Lovely (Auburn, Mass.). Junior Bianca Bogda (Cranston, RI) added a goal and an assist.
AMCATS goalkeeper senior Amanda Hevy (North Brookfield, Mass.) had eleven saves in the loss.
Norwich's Bogda scored the game's first goal unassisted on a shot from inside the box to the left corner past keeper Hevy. Casey followed with her 8th and 9th goals of the season to make it 3-0 in the 32nd minute. Baily Lamarre made it 4-0 just two minutes later. Lamarre and Osinski led the team with five shots on goal. An unassisted Julia Lovely goal made it 5-0 at halftime.
The AMCATS return to action on Thursday when they travel to Bay Path College for a 3:30pm match-up. Norwich returns home to host GNAC opponent Albertus Magnus on Saturday at 3:30pm.
