Men's Hockey Takes Down Lions

PAXTON, Mass: 4-1 was the final tonight in Warminster Pennsylvania, with Anna Maria Men's Hockey defeating Bryn Athyn College in non-conference action.


The Lions (3-7) were able to strike first 15:32 into the first period, off of Alec Grollman's stick from Tanner Congdon and Zach Pamaylaon. Anna Maria goalie Brendan Boncore (Oakland, MI) would keep Bryn Athyn scoreless for the remainder of the game.


The AMCATS (3-5-3) were able to respond quickly as Patrick Manning (Messena, NY) from Jack Sitzman (Redondo Beach, CA) and Sam Cyr-Ledoux (Montreal, QC) was able to put it home just two minutes later on a Power Play opportunity.


Anna Maria would go on to put up two more goals in the second period, the first was on another Power Play by Gavin Proeh (Highland Park, IL) 6 minutes into the period, off of a feed from Quinn Tucker (Hancock, NH) and Aleksandr Makarov (Indian Trail, NC). The Second came from Jackson Dobek (Natick, Mass.) with some help by Kevin Kaufman (Medway, Mass.) and Proeh 11 minutes into the period.


The last AMCAT score was scored 11 minutes into the third period when Jack Sitzman beat the Lions tender to complete the shorthanded goal. Kade McCartin (North Branford, Conn.) was credited with the loan assist on the play.
