NASHUA, NH - On Saturday, November 23rd the Anna Maria College men's ice hockey team traveled to Rivier University to take on the Raiders for a MASCAC conference matchup. The AMCATS would win the game 5-1.
Owen Barrow started the AMCATS off quickly with a goal just 50 seconds into the game. Barrow would go into the Raiders zone on a 2 on 1 and receive a pass from Braeden McKinnon to get things started. Shortly after Matthew Byrne would find the back of the net from a rebound shot by Brandon Della-Paolera to make it 2-0 after the first period. The AMCATS would continue to keep the two goal lead until just under two minutes left in the second period when Jake Laville would help the raiders cut the lead in half.
The AMCATS gained control and continued adding to their lead quickly in the third period. A fast forecheck from Matthew Gilbert would turn into a wraparound goal helping the AMCATS regain their two-goal lead. Just eight second later Matthew Gilbert would score again, cutting into the zone from right to left and tucking the puck in between the pads of the Raider's goalie. The final goal for the AMCATS would come on the power play with thirteen minutes left to play as Braeden McKinnon would step into the slot and backhand the puck over the right shoulder of the goalie. Matthew Hennessy helped the AMCATS secure the victory stopping 29 out of the 30 shots he faced.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
- Matthew Gilbert had a two-goal night against the Raiders for the first time this season.
- Braeden Mckinnon had a goal and an assist in the win against the Raiders.
- The AMCATS are 2-0 in MASCAC conference play.
- The AMCATS have scored a total of 23 goals so far this season in six games.

The AMCATS will be back in action on Thursday, December 5th where they will host the Framingham State Rams for a MASCAC-conference matchup. Opening puck drop is set for 5:40pm at the Horgan Arena in Auburn, MA.
